“Sometimes trying to be your best for everyone else means that you can’t show up in your own life the way you want to. You should be a priority in your own life. Perhaps it sounds selfish but putting on your own oxygen mask first ensures that you stay well enough to help those who are close to you.Whether it's relationship conflict, depression, anxiety or work-related stress, I work with couples and individuals to stop the cycle of negative thoughts and behaviors so they can have the life they want.”

Kevin is a certified mindfulness informed professional and ecotherapist and provides psychotherapy, mental health consulting, and conducts group mindfulness coaching. "I view my role as a therapist as a co-participant with the client/s in their journey. The clients are the experts in their lives, and I have the training to help them when they need additional support. I operate from a multicultural perspective; having experienced immigration, I know how clients may have experienced life vastly different than mine; therefore, before making any assumptions, it is important to get to know them well. Psychological studies have been helpful for many people; however, it is still essential to understand them in the context of the client's culture to ensure that we don’t misunderstand behaviors through our own cultural lens. I grew up in a Christian family that was very involved in church, and I have several relatives who have served as deacons and pastors. I completed a minor in Biblical and Theological Studies during my undergraduate studies. Afterward, I attended Eastern University for my master's in clinical counseling, and I am currently in the doctoral program in marriage and family therapy. I often hear pastors dedicate so much time and energy to their congregations that their well-being sometimes takes a backseat. I believe that it is vital to attend to their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs while caring for others. Sometimes for a season, we may run on adrenaline, and it feels like we can accomplish a lot, but without taking care of ourselves, this eventually catches up to us. We may feel depleted, discouraged, and burnt out. I want to walk alongside clients to help them feel restored and refreshed."
