Personal Development

How is it with your soul--and the rest of your self?

Numerous studies from entities such as the Lilly Endowment, Pew Charitable Trusts, Duke University, and the Barna Research Group have consistently named the lack of soul care and self-care as a factor in clergy burnout, and noted that clergy are often not consistently confident about their self-development/self-management. Healthy, effective leaders make soul care and self-care a priority; ministries are only as healthy as their leaders. You cannot draw life-giving water from empty wells or cracked cisterns! One of the ways that CCCW supports clergy leaders is through our Personal Development Network: a diverse group of qualified spiritual directors, therapists, and executive coaches who can create safe and sacred space for individuals to tend to and nurture their spiritual, emotional, and vocational health.
